Hang “Becky” Zhong
Hang “Becky” Zhong is a junior in the College of Agriculture & Life Sciences majoring in Plant and Soil Sciences. She has a minor in Chinese. Becky is a native of Chapel Hill, North Carolina, in Orange County. She is a graduate of East Chapel Hill High School.

“Being selected for the Adolph Warren Leadership Program means so much to me, and I feel extremely fortunate and thrilled to be able to work with other amazing fellows, advisors, and many others who are involved in this program,” says Becky. “I am looking forward to learning from and interacting with policy leaders, and decision makers of our state, as well as building stronger leadership strengths through this program.” Becky has been active in many campus organizations and in leadership positions. She has served as Historian of the Agronomy Club, Campus Ambassador for the UNC-Duke China Leadership Summit, Agri-Life Council Representative for the NCSU Chapter of Minorities in Agriculture, Natural Resources and Related Sciences (MANRRS), and International Ambassador with the NCSU Office of International Affairs. She is a member of the Horticulture Club.

Becky plans to use her experiences with the Warren Leadership Program to strengthen her understanding of agricultural sciences and policy. She has a long term goal of working in agricultural research, planning, and policy development. Becky also has an interest in communication and public education. She will be interning in Summer 2015 with the North Carolina Senate’s Standing Committee on Agriculture, Environment, and Natural Resources.
